WW2 16mm Russian film about battle
of Stalingrad ----
Superb DVD featuring 75 minutes of mostly un-published film
footage from
the battle
of Stalingrad. The Film was produced in 1962 from footage
recorded in the 1940's by red army camera men. The film begins with
a short history of the war on the Russian front up to the battle of
Stalingrad and then continues to tell the tale of the battle from
the Russian point of view. As the footage was filmed by the Russians it mostly consists of
footage of Russian soldiers which is seldom seen. There is also good
footage of the famous landmarks of the city as well as some footage
of Stalingrad in the 1960's. All in all a fascinating if slightly biased documentary
