Consists of the following, Wehrpass
---- Issued to Ludwig Altschaffel on the 6 may 1938, He already had a forth
class driving license when he was conscripted. The Wehrpass has his RAD
service recorded in it which is rare. Served with the following regiments
among others, 2 Reserve infantry battalion 20. 1st company Kraftfahrer abteilung.
An artillery regiment and several other Kraftfahrer regiments. Trained
in the use of the k98 and MG34. Holder of 3 awards including the Drivers
badge in bronze, war merit cross 2nd class with swords. The Wehrpass is
well filled out throughout, Soldbuch
---- Contains the same information as the Wehrpass, the Soldbuch is in
a worn condition as the spine is separating. There are a lot of typed glued
in inserts and there is a third listed award that i cannot quite read but
the photo in the front shows the iron cross 2nd class, 75
photos the cover a variety of topics from
his RAD and Army service, 7 postcard

Michael Send was born in Germany on the
19th April 1913. The arbeitsbuch was issued to him on the 24th September
1926 in the Memmingen Labour District, it contains two recorded jobs. He
held the rank of Obergefreiter and was a member of the 2nd section of
the 268 Reconnaissance Regiment. He was awarded the wound badge in black
on the 10 September 1941, the iron cross 2nd class on the 12 September
1941and finally the general assault badge on the 14th September 1941.
the 268th Reconnaissance regiment was
formed on the 26th August 1939. In June 1940 the division took part in
the attack on the Maginot line in the Satin-Avold sector. They also saw
combat at noyen, Vathimenil and Remeincourt. In June 1941 the division
took part in operation barbarossa where it was attached to the 5th Army
group. In the winter of 1942 to 1943 the division suffered heavy losses
in the face of the Russian winter counteroffensive and was pulled out of
a salient at Rschev. The division continued to fight through out the
winter campaign. |

Johann Brummer was born in 1914 and was
conscripted in 1939 in the the Luftwaffe. He was promoted to
Obergefreiter in 1939 and then later to Unteroffizier in 1943. He is
listed as having served with Flak Regiments 191 & 3 and motorised flak
regiment 37 in 1943. He was awarded the the 1 October 1939 medal, the
war merit cross 2nd class with swords, the Flak combat badge and one
other award. The Soldbuch is well filled out and contains entries from
1939 all the way to 1945. The photos depict uniform photos, anti
aircraft guns, parades, vehicles, search lights and more. |

Johann Pfeil was born
in 1917 near Ried in Germany. He was conscripted on the 2nd
of September 1838 upon completion of his compulsory RAD service. He was
then sworn into the Wehrmacht on the 1st of December 1938. He
was conscripted into the 2nd section of the 135th
Wehrmacht Infantry Regiment. He was qualified in the use of the K98
rifle. Pfeil was awarded the Wound badge in silver (On the 2nd
August 1940) , 1st October 1938 Medal (On the 12thnd
November 1939) and the Iron Cross 2nd class (On the 21st
October 1940). His citations for the 1st October 1938 medal
and the Iron Cross 2nd Class citation are included in this
document group. Pfeil was promoted to Obergefreiten on the 4th
November 1940.
The 135th
Infantry regiment was created when the 45th Infantry Division
was formed. The Division was formed under the command of General
Leutnant Friedrich Materna who commanded the division until September
1940. The division took part in the Anschluss, the invasion of Poland.
The division were responsible for attacking Przemysl and Dobrosin. The
division then took part of the invasion of France in 1940. |

Roman Sieraczek was a member of the 13th
company of infantry regiment 437 and later in the war the 8th
company of Grenadier regiment 4. He was awarded the Iron cross 2nd
class on the 12 December 1941. The Wound badge in black on the 18th
February 1942. The Wound badge in silver on the 1 August 1942. The
Winter war medal on the 4th September 1942. The Iron Cross 2nd
class on the 2nd November 1944. The wound badge in gold in
late 1944 for being wounded by a grenade splinter. He was promoted from
Gefreiter to Obergefreiter in late 1944.
Infantry regiment 437 was part of the 132nd
Infantry division. The division was formed in the region of Landshut in
Germany in October 1940 under the command of General Lt. Rudolf
Sintzenitch. In 1941 the division took part in the campaign in the
Balkans as part of the 2nd Army group. The fought amongst
others in the following towns Maribor, Zagreb and Sarajevo. The fought
in the Ukraine and then moved on to the Crimea where they took part in
the siege of Sebastopol. In July 1942 the division was transferred to
army group north and the 18th Army group. The division was
eventually encircled in the Courland pocket and captured by the Russian
Army. |

Fritz Gerber was in
the 6th section of artillery regiment number 7 which was part
of the 7th Infantry Division. He was awarded the 13th
March 1938 commemorative medal on the 8th November 1938. The
Iron cross 2nd Class on the 2nd December 1939
whilst fighting in Poland and then the Iron Cross 1st class
on the 1st August 1940. Gerber studied at the technical
university in Munchen in Bavaria.
The 7th
Infantry Division was formed in 1921 when the Reichs Heer was
reorganized. It was then later reformed in 1934 in the Munich area. The
division took part in the fighting in Poland in 1939. It then fought in
France in 1940 including the battle of Dunkirk as part of army group A.
In 1941 the division took part in the invasion of Russia as part of Army
group centre, where it fought at Bialystock and Minsk. In 1942 the
division took part in the heavy fighting at Koursk. The division fought
all the way through the Russian campaign and in 1944 found itself
fighting the red army in Poland. In late 1945 the unit eventually
surrendered to the red army in the Stutthof-Steegen area of Germany. |

Theodore Theil was conscripted in 1939.
He served with Grenadier Regiment 216 until January 1943 when he
transferred to grenadier regiment 479. He later served in Grenadier
regiment 343 and 357 in 1945. He was trained to use the K98 and LMG 34.
He was promoted to Gefreiter in 1945. He served on the Italian Front in
1943 till august 1944 and then transferred to the Western Front in
December 1944.
Heinrich Theil served in the
Kreigsmarine with the south fleet. He held the rank of Obergefreiter and
the marching orders relate to him being sent to hospital due to head
injuries. |

Vocklabruck. The WW1 honor cross was issued on the 20th May 1940. The
War merit medal was issues in Vienna on the 1st of September 1944 and is
signed by a SS Obergruppenfuhrer and general of the police.

Hans Buttner was a
member of the 2nd Company of Artillery regiment 74. He was an
Oberschirrmeister which translated means Motor Transport NCO. He was
promoted from Schirrmeister to Oberschirrmeister on the 31st
October 1939 and was awarded the Bulgarian soldiers cross of courage 2nd
Class on the 1st October 1942. His portrait photo shows him
wearing the medal ribbon for this award as well as an army long service
award. He also wears a third medal ribbon.
The five postcard
sized photos depict Wehrmacht trucks and jeeps in convoy and some taken
in transit. The large A5 sized photos depict a group of soldiers sat at
a table. Hans Buttner can be seen in the first photo on the left of the
group. His Schirrmeister trade patch can be clearly seen on his tunic
arm. |

Feldwebel Franz
Hoffmann was part of Infantry regiment 317 which was part of the 211th
Infantry Division. This division was stationed in France until 1942 when
it was transferred to the Russian front in early 1942 it then fought
there until its destruction at the end of the war.
The war merit cross citation was
awarded on the 30th Jan 1944 by the commander of the 6th Army Group. The
Russian front medal citation was awarded on the 17th August 1942.
The two loose photos are dated 1939 on
the rear and show wehrmacht trucks.

Obergefreiter Franz Lerch served with Artillery regiment 13. He was
attached a transport section within the regiment. He also appears to
have served with Grenadier regiment 267 in late 1944. The soldbuch is
well filled out but appears to have some pages missing. He was awarded
the War merit cross 2nd Class with swords in November 1943. The citation
is slightly different to the usual style as the font is much bolder.
